In terms of conversion efficiency, the utilization ratio of the battery, that is, the energy loss ratio of the battery's energy converted to the output emergency light power, the higher the better, because the circuit will be lost during the conversion process. If the conversion efficiency is low, you need to equip The battery consumes more energy, but if the battery is smaller at the same power, it will be more energy efficient and the cost will be lower.


In terms of conversion voltage, in general, it is 132-187V in China, that is, emergency power must be turned on when the power supply is reduced to 132V. If it exceeds 187V, it must be switched back to the main power state. Europe is also in this range. The US market is not wide voltage, but is generally controlled at 80-85V, so certification is easier to pass, which also symbolizes user needs.
In terms of emergency lighting time, emergency lighting for general evacuation areas, vertical evacuation areas, densely crowded evacuation areas, and underground evacuation areas for a minimum of 30 minutes; emergency evacuation areas, evacuation areas for emergency lighting for a minimum of 60 minutes; Such as fire control room, power distribution room, pump room and other emergency lighting for at least continuous 180min. The emergency lighting time is mainly related to the battery. At present, it is generally 90 minutes or more in China and 3 hours in Europe.



In terms of emergency lighting brightness, it is mainly related to the output power of the battery. The output power is controlled by the power supply. A more general solution is to use constant power output to control the technology. The constant current solution may also need to consider the current and voltage of the lamp beads, so the deviation is relatively large. In general, the minimum in the European market is 5W. Unless the customer has a requirement for the brightness of emergency lighting fixtures in certain occasions, it is necessary to provide a corresponding solution according to the specific situation.
In terms of battery charge and discharge, the previous domestic standards were: Ni-Cr batteries need to be charged for less than 24 hours, the charging current (overcharge current) cannot be greater than 0.05C, and the over-discharge voltage is 80%. At present, the backup battery includes three types of lithium batteries, nickel-chromium and nickel-metal hydride batteries, and the battery materials can be selected according to customer requirements. If you need a small volume, you can only choose a lithium battery, which is two or three times larger than a nickel-hydrogen battery under the same volume capacity. Although the cost of lithium batteries was high before, with the development of electric vehicles in the past two years, enterprises have poured into the lithium battery industry, and its costs have been greatly reduced, which is conducive to the popularization of emergency lighting.
In addition, the emergency power supply for linear products requires pulse current design, because linear IC design has a cycle detection. If the power supply does not perform pulse current design, the size of the product will increase and the cost will increase accordingly. At present, some companies have adopted linear solutions with low cost and small volume for emergency lighting.


In addition to many high requirements in terms of performance, there is a more important point. Emergency lighting is a fire safety product. Any component must be designed in strict accordance with safety requirements, meet safety certification requirements, and achieve reliability. Above standard. However, at present, there is no specific standard for emergency power supply in the domestic market, and the market circulation products are mixed, and in the domestic market, the government's demand is more important than technical hardware. The foreign market is more rigorous and requires the power supply and the product to pass UL certification.
